STAY AWAY FROM JOB RACKETEERING, IMO NSCDC BOSS, SUNDAY OVYI WARNS PERSONNEL

The helmsman of the Imo Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Matthew Ovye has warned the operatives of the Imo State NSCDC, on behalf of the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, not to engage in fraudulent activities such as job racketeering. He emphasized that strict punishment within the ambit of the law will be enforced for culprits.

”Let me emphasize and warn on behalf of the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, that the Corps will not spare anyone caught in the fraudulent act of job racketeering in the name of the NSCDC or any other agency. We cannot afford to tarnish the image of the NSCDC, which we have worked day and night to build. It should be noted that no personnel, including state commands, have been empowered to get involved in the recruitment exercise of the NSCDC. Anyone caught in this act shall be prosecuted within the ambit of the law. The good image of the NSCDC is our dearest value.” Commandant Ovye warned during a muster parade recently.

Speaking further on the insecurity in Imo State, the NSCDC boss promised his personnel would not abdicate the responsibility of protecting critical government properties despite the seeming challenges in Imo State, ”because that is our core value.”
