The Kogi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Paul Igwebuike has reminded the sterling virtues of ethical compliance of the leadership of the Corps.
Commandant Igwebuike stated this while reading out the NSCD Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi’s code of conduct to officers and men of the Corps at the state Command of the NSCDC in Lokoja.
According to Commandant Igwebuike, our Commandant General has ordered strict compliance to the ethical and discipline standards, warning of the severe consequences of the following:
”THE SCOURGE OF JOB RACKETEERING. He said It is imperative that we stand firm against any form of deception that leads job seekers astray, tarnishing the reputation of our noble institution.
ADHERING TO A PROPER DRESS CODE. He said this cannot be overstated. Our appearance reflects our commitment to excellence and must be upheld with unwavering dedication.
THE ACT OF CONNIVING WITH INDIVIDUALS TO SHIRK ONE’S DUTIES (AWO) is a betrayal of trust and a disservice to our mandate. Let us recommit ourselves to the principles of honesty and diligence in all our endeavors.
AIDING AND ABETTING VANDALS. The Commandant echoed this as an act of betrayal of duty to protect and serve. We must remain vigilant and resolute in our efforts to combat such acts, for they undermine the very fabric of our mission.
SOCIAL MEDIA. He said is a powerful tool for communication, must be used responsibly and ethically. The dissemination of confidential information undermines our credibility and must not be tolerated.
USE OF GARB FOR MATERNITY. To our expectant mothers, the appropriate maternity garb must be worn with pride and adherence to regulations. Your well-being and safety are paramount, and compliance ensures a conducive environment for all.
IMPERSONATION AND FALSIFICATION OF RECORDS are grave offenses enshrined in the PSR that erode trust and integrity. Let us uphold the principles of honesty and transparency in all our dealings. Meanwhile any person with such issue should follow an appropriate channel.
DISCIPLINE He stated vehemently that discipline is the cornerstone of our organization. Respect for superiors and adherence to regulations are non-negotiable, ensuring a cohesive and efficient command structure.
PROMOTION He said the Commandant General is working acidically to ensure stagnation is completely eradicated and such we should expect a higher number of promotions this year
PENSION AND INSURANCE The Commandant stated that the CG has assured the Corps a working pension and insurance unit which will take the corps to an enviable height, attaining the desired goal.”
