The Kogi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Paul Igwebuike has emphasized on an ideal synergy and collaboration between the NSCDC and Immigration Service.
Commandant Igwebuike while receiving in audience the newly deployed Comptroller, Immigration Service in Kogi State, J.A Omezi who came on an official visit disclosed that the two paramilitary agencies had no choice but to collaborate if they are truly set out to achieve their respective mandate.
The NSCDC Commandant opined that NSCDC and NIS emanated from the Ministry of Interior and share the same Board which culminated to the strong bond between the two agencies.
The Kogi State NSCDC helmsman assured the Comptroller of a very robust synergy and collaboration which will serve as a catalyst in eradicating all forms of crimes and criminalities in the State.Â
He averred that the tasks placed on security agencies are enormous, therefore makes unnecessary interagency rivalry counterproductive and unnecessary.
In his response the Comptroller Immigration said visit was paramount to him because his predecessor briefed him on the cordial relationship that exist between the two security agencies and promised to build more on it.Â
”No agency is superior to the other as we are all working towards same goal. However, each agency is expected to act according to its mandates discharging its statutory responsibilities with high sense of discipline and professionalism.” said the Comptroller.
