The Helmsman of the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Paul Igwebuike, has reiterated his team’s absolute commitment and non-compromising approach to executing the NSCDC’s mandate. According to him, this approach has been highly productive and result-oriented in the Corps’ performance in Kogi State.
Speaking against the backdrop of the supreme court judgement delivered in favour of Governor Usman Ododo yesterday, Commandant Igwebuike explained how his operatives alongside other security agencies in the State were able to take charge and ward off any possible politically motivated protest that may be triggered in reaction to the supreme court judgement.”
Speaking during an interview yesterday in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, he said: ‘’The truth of the matter is that our priority to the execution of our mandate is irrevocable and cannot be compromised by anyone, especially in a season like this. This is in alignment with our Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Audi’s ethical compliance and absolute commitment to the peace of the nation.”
”You must have observed our noticeable presence in all the strategic locations of the state, even ahead of the Supreme Court judgment. In absolute compliance with our mandate, we are duty-bound to ensure that nothing untoward hinders the peace of the state, especially as we are just coming out of the nationwide protest. We are leaving no stone unturned because we are conscious of the criminal tendencies of disgruntled elements who might want to hijack any opportunity for political gains to destabilize the state.” Commandant Igwebuike asserted.
”Again, I would like the people of Kogi State to continue to be more security conscious and not allow groups or individuals to cause unrest in Kogi State. We promise you that you can keep going about your legitimate activities; we assure you of your safety and unhindered legitimate business environment. Please join hands with us to fight agents of criminality and insecurity in the State. I assure you of the NSCDC’s support at all times,” Commandant Igwebuike said.
