Nigerian Armed Forces have confirmed the killing of 171 terrorists in a major onslaught against terrorism across the country.
According to a press release issued on Friday by Major General Edward Buba, Director Defence Media Operations, troops of Operation HADIN KAI in the North East recorded several successes, including the surrender of BH/ISWAP/JAS terrorist fighters and families, arrest of suspected collaborators, and conduct of raid and offensive operations.
Similarly, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN in the North Central conducted offensive operations, counter/anti-kidnapping operations, and arrested suspected violent extremists.
Operation WHIRL STROKE in the North Central also recorded successes, including the arrest of violent extremists and the recovery of weapons and ammunition.
In the North West, Operation HADARIN DAJI and Operation WHIRL PUNCH recorded significant successes, including the neutralization of terrorists, the arrest of suspects, and the recovery of weapons and ammunition.
Operation DELTA SAFE in the South-South destroyed several illegal refining sites and recovered stolen products, while Operation UDO KA in the South East arrested suspected violent extremists and recovered weapons and ammunition.
