In line with the vision and commitment of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, to continuously enhance the capabilities of its personnel, the Kwara State Command recently organized a two-day capacity development seminar for its Intelligence and Investigative Officers.
The seminar, themed “Enhancing Analytical Capabilities in Modern Intelligence and Investigative Practices,” took place at the Kwara State Library Complex in Ilorin from Wednesday, August 14, to Thursday, August 15, 2024. Over 300 intelligence officers from Area Commands and Divisional Offices across the 16 local government areas of the state attended the event.
In his opening remarks, the State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, who was represented by the Head of the Intelligence and Investigation Department, DCC Yaqeen Rafiu Olanrewaju, urged the participants to take full advantage of such training opportunities to enhance their skills and keep pace with the ever-evolving demands of intelligence and investigative operations.
He emphasized the critical role that continuous learning and professional development play in maintaining the high standards of the Corps, particularly in an era where security challenges are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
In a goodwill message, ACG Stella O. Oladeye, (Acg Intelligence NHQ, Abuja) emphasized the critical need for such seminars, noting the increasing complexity and dynamic nature of threats to national security.
The seminar featured esteemed resource persons from both internal and external sources, including experts from the National Human Rights Commission, the State High Court, and a leading ICT firm based in Ilorin. Their diverse expertise provided valuable insights and practical knowledge to the participants.
