Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has commenced investigation into the death of a night guard in Ikirun.
The night guard, it was gathered, was killed while working at a shopping complex located along Station Road, Ikirun, Osun State.
The Spokesperson of the NSCDC in the state, Adeleke Kehinde made this revelation in Osogbo on Monday.
Adeleke said NSCDC operatives had already visited the scene of the crime.
She said, “We had a report that today, Monday, a middle-aged man simply known as Ibariba was killed by unknown assailants in the early hours, while on duty as a night guard at Station Road Area, Ikirun.
“The man was working as a security guard in a shopping complex located in Station Road when the ugly incident occurred.
“Remains of the deceased had been evacuated and deposited in a morgue by the men from Ikirun Police Divisional Headquarters.”
“Meanwhile, an investigation had commenced by the officers of the corps in the division to unravel the cause of the death and apprehend the perpetrators,” Adeleke said.
She said the actual period when the night guard was killed could not be immediately determined.
It was gathered that shop owners near the scene of the crime said they found the deceased in the morning in a pool of his blood.
