Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun with the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla at the Naval Headquarters Abuja to discuss a proposed Naval Base in the state.
The Governor highlighted Ogun’s strategic location, bordering Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as its proximity to Benin Republic, making it an ideal location for thriving maritime activities requiring a stronger Naval presence. The Governor later handed over the title document for 100 hectares of land to the Nigerian Navy for the proposed Naval Base.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla in his response expressed the willingness of the Nigerian Navy to ensure maximum cooperation with the government and Ogun State citizens with a view to fast tracking Governor Dapo’s request without further delay.
