NSCDC  ANAMBRA STATE COMMAND STRENGTHENS INTELLIGENCE GATHERING TO COMBAT CRIME

 

In a bid to further reduce crime levels within the state, the Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde, met with Intelligence officers across the twenty one local government of the state to strategize on proactive measures to gather critical information and stay ahead of criminal elements.

The meeting, held at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters, Awka on Tuesday 23rd of July,2023 emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering in preventing and combating crime.

Comdt. Maku charged the officers to be vigilant, proactive, and innovative in their approach to gathering and analyzing information that can aid in the reduction of crime within the state.

He noted that the lack of effective intelligence gathering could hinder ability to proactively prevent and combat crime, leaving citizens vulnerable to criminal activities.

“We must stay ahead of criminals and be proactive in our approach to security, we cannot afford to continue operating in an information vacuum “

“Intelligence gathering is key to our success, and I charge you all to be diligent and committed to this critical aspect of our operations”he said 

The State Commandant called for enhanced collaboration with other security agencies, stakeholders and the public to bridge the intelligence gap and ensure a safer and more secure Anambra State.

Earlier the Head of Intelligence and Investigation Department, Assistant Commandant Amadi Marcel said with the renewed focus on intelligence gathering, the NSCDC Anambra State Command was poised to further reduce crime levels and ensure a safer and more secure environment for citizens and residents of the state.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance collaboration with other security agencies and stakeholders to ensure a seamless flow of information and a united front against crime.
