The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Commandant Umar J.G Mohammed (PhD) has urged for sustained cooperation among security agencies to address the issue of insecurity in Nigeria.
Commandant Umar made the call on Monday 10th June, 2024 when the newly deployed Kwara State Immigration Service Controller, CC Iyabode O. Okuwa-Idris, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in ilorin.
Commandant Umar stressed the crucial role of collaborative efforts in addressing the diverse security challenges confronting the nation. He emphasized that through concerted action, security agencies can harness their combined resources and knowledge to effectively combat insecurity and guarantee the safety of all Nigerians.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to assisting the Nigerian Immigration Service in combating irregular migration and other trans-border crimes within the state.
The Kwara State Comptroller of Immigration Service, CC Iyabode O. Okuwa-Idris, appreciated the Commandant for the warmth reception accorded her, adding that the visit was to familiarize and strengthen the inter-agency synergy between the two agencies under the Ministry of Interior.
She acknowledged the synergy and cooperation between the NSCDC and the Nigerian Immigration Service, urging for more collaborations to minimize criminal activities to the barest minimum.
