Zamfara NSCDC Trains Personnel On Criminal Prosecution

Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) yesterday said that it has trained divisional and area commandants across the state to be more knowledgeable in the new laws being gazetted by the current administration of Governor Dauda Lawal.

The new laws include banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling laws, which were not captured in the old penal code of the state.

Speaking yesterday, the resource person who is the Director Public Prosecution of the State Ministry of Justice, Abdul Ahmad, told the participants the importance of verifying and following criminal cases to its logical conclusion before prosecution.

Ahmad further disclosed that there were Administrative Criminal Justice Act and the penal code which needs to be prudently verified so as to know which case would be entertained by which court.
