The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Headquarters, Abeokuta, Commandant David Idowu Ojelabi, paid a courtesy call on Honourable Justices AA Okeke and AA Demi-Ajayi, at the Federal High Court, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Considering the power of the Corps to prosecute on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation on matters relating to the mandates of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Nigeria, most especially in protecting all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (PCNAI) it is important and very necessary for the State Commandant to have a good relationship with the court.
More so, recently, the Ogun NSCDC won convictions on some three arrested vandals of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company’s (IBEDC) cables in Ogun State.
To end the spate of occurrence of this crime, the Corps in Ogun State has decided that there will be a zero tolerance on vandalisation of government infrastructure in and around Ogun State and in fact, across the country at large.
The Honourable Justices spoke about appropriate investigations and due diligence on all cases especially harmonizing all ends regarding every matter in the area of merit before approaching the court so it won’t be an effort in futility.
During the visit, the State Commandant thanked and appreciated the two Honourable Justices of the Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta for their professionalism and commitment towards ending crime especially that of vandalisation of government property and infrastructure across the country and particularly Ogun State and its environs.
