Without IPAC,  Nigeria Would Have Been Boiling – C C Willie

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,  Ebony State Command,  Dr Elijah Etim Willie says Nigeria would have been boiling today without the mediatory role of Inter-Party Advisory Council.  Commandant Willie made this remark in his office today while playing host to the new state executive of the Council during a courtesy visit.

He commended them for the honour of recognizing him as a major stakeholder  in the political equation of the state. “We are all stakeholders in the inner cycle of the state’s politics who play vital roles in safeguarding the polity and guarding against the miscreants.”

The State’s security Commander unveiled that NSCDC duties and functions were multi-faceted. “How many people know that we arrest, detain, investigate and prosecute or even resolve conflicts?

There are many things NSCDC do in Ebonyi state that people don’t know. We are safeguarding schools through safe school initiative. We prevent oil bickering as well as other critical roles for INEC and political parties. I’ll do the same work as I did in Niger State and also do the same work I did  during a rerun in Ebonyi here.”

He commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for assuring of a level playing field for inclusive political participation in the state.

The State chairman of interparty advisory Council, Comrade Nasir Ernest Nweze told the State commandant that they came to solicit support of the Corps for their activities and especially during the forthcoming Local Government  Elections in the State.

He unveiled that plans are in top gear to mobilize grassroots support for the elections and equally ensure peace accord among political parties during the election.

He expressed satisfaction with the impact of Civil Defence in the state which accounted for their confidence in seeking collaboration with civil defence,  DSS and the police.
