The Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 800 personnel across the state to bolster security.
The State Commandant, Muhammad Bello Muazu, made the deployment announcement in a press release on Wednesday, stating that the personnel will collaborate with other security agencies to maintain order.
According to Muazu, the deployed officers were sourced from various units including the Operations Department, Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), Disaster Management Unit, Intelligence and Investigations Department, Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, Nuclear, and Energy (CBRNE) Unit, Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection Department, Anti-Vandal Unit, and Female Squad at the Command State Headquarters.
The commandant pointed out the importance of professionalism, responsibility and diligence in their duties, urging the personnel to uphold the values.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Sa’ad, conveyed the Commandant’s well wishes for a joyous Easter celebration to the people of Gombe State and the Christian community.
He said that the deployment of these personnel is part of the Command’s strategic efforts to ensure the safety and security of residents and visitors during the Easter period and beyond.
