If indeed, we have truly settled down with the reality that Nigeria, our dear country, remains one indivisible entity belonging to all of us, then it becomes inevitable for each of us to support its military in its onerous task of keeping Nigeria safe.
The above assertion explains why our military deserves our cooperation and affection at all times for their various military operations against our common enemies and detractors. Through a whole-of-society approach, we shall triumph over the enemies of Nigeria; not only will we suffocate them, but we will also eradicate them from all the nooks and crannies of our nation. Let it be noted that all these achievements can be realized through our collective determination.
The need to team up with our brothers and sisters in the military to
salvage our dear country from the claws of perpetrators of insecurity
is inevitable at this crucial moment.
The fight to bail out Nigeria, of course, requires a collective effort; it cannot be the exclusive preserve of the military alone. Experience has shown that military means alone cannot effectively neutralize terrorism and insurgency.
Jointly, and in a manner free from ethnic and religious sentiments, we should all resolve, at this precarious moment of our security challenges, to put an end to senseless killings and dastardly acts. Despite the seemingly daunting security crisis, we remain firmly convinced that Nigeria’s insecurity crisis is surmountable.
If it has truly been established that Nigeria and Nigerians are being brutalized by a very small clique of criminals who are bent on subjecting our economic and civil lives to unnecessary sufferings and nightmares for their selfish enrichment, then where is the logic or claim of their victory over the entire populace? After all, if these criminals are indeed very few in number, their impact should be minimal.
For instance, many people struggled to understand the illogicality of
the narrative that almost 300 school children were abducted from their
Kaduna school on bikes. Surprisingly, there was no intervention,
defense, or prior information about the kidnapping, despite the
presence of hundreds of people and security agents working around the
area. And this, of course, was indicative of connivance between the criminals and the civilian populace, with security agents not being an exception.
We urge Nigerians to give their unflinching support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria under the indefatigable Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa. General Musa is a top-of-the-class consummate soldier who has consistently commanded enviable track records for over two decades. His high respect among troops and warm relationship with the civilian populace at all his duty posts explain the tremendous confidence reposed in him by his boss, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, and by Nigerians in general.
