12,500 Soldiers Trained In 2023 – Nigerian Army


The Commandant Depot Nigerian Army, Major General Mohammed Aminu Abdullahi, says about 12,500 soldiers were trained in the year 2023.

He stated that those trained are currently contributing to the defence and security of the country.

Major General Mohammed Aminu Abdullahi, made the disclosure at the 2023 West African Social Activities, WASA held at the depot parade ground, Zaria.

According to him, the trained soldiers were dispatched to the various operations and units in the Nigerian Army, and currently, another round of training is going on for the 86th Regular Recruits Intake.

He said, “In 2024, Depot Nigerian Army will redouble efforts in line with the philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff which is to transform the Army towards achieving its constitutional responsibilities in a joint environment.”

The Special Guest of honour, Brig.-Gen. Aliyu Jibril, Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Military Police, in his address, explained that the importance of professionalism and adherence to the military’s core values include loyalty, self-service, courage, discipline, and respect for others.

He enjoined the officers and soldiers to remain focused and resilient amidst distractions, highlighting the critical role of the military in maintaining peace and stability across Nigeria.

He assured of the broader commitment within the Nigerian Army to uphold the highest standards of conduct and effectiveness in all operational tasks.
