Men of the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo State have apprehended seven suspects over offences bordering on child defilement, harmful traditional practices and human trafficking.
The state’s Commandant of NSCDC, Augustine Padonu, gave the names of the suspects as Osuolale Ayodele (53), for raping a 13-year-old girl; John Umeh (64), for sexually assaulting his step-daughter.
Eyeke Chimechie (45), for impregnating a 17-year-old girl and subjecting her to domestic violence; Mutiu Alabi (45) and Adedoja Lukman (72), for engaging in harmful traditional practices, including genital mutilation. The police said the others were Tomiwa Olusegun (35) and Eritobiloba Rasidi (49) for attempting to traffic four girls to Libya.
