Abdullahi Idris, a 25-year-old tricycle theft suspect from Agumau Quarters in Hadejia Local Government Area, was apprehended by operatives of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday, 2nd day of February 2024 for allegedly stealing a tricycle belonging to one Mal. Bako in Chadi Qtrs., Hadejia Local Government, Jigawa State.
He was arrested in Chadi Quarters Hadejia, at about 1700hrs following a complaint lodged by Mal. Bako who reported to NSCDC operatives in Hadejia that his tricycle was stolen and seen by his friend on that very day along Hadeja-Nguru road.
The case is under investigation after which the suspect transported the tricycle’s parts to Warwarin, Matoya Garko, and Gandun Sarki in Hadejia, where he sold the iron rims to a scrap dealer.
Upon investigation, the suspect confessed to have stolen the tricycle of the complainant and further stated that he has stolen three tricycle a week ago at Magama Hudu, Zonagalari & within the premises of PHC Gabari qtrs which eventually led to his arrest.
The State Commandant, Muhammad Danjuma (CC) has ordered a discreet investigation into the case after which, the suspect will be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction for possible prosecution.
