Nigerian Army Destroy Bandits Hideout, Rescue Kidnapped Victims In Taraba

In the continued endeavor to address the challenges of banditry and kidnapping in Taraba State, the forces of the 114 Battalion (Rear), a component of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, joined hands with various security agencies to effectively dismantle several hideouts utilized by bandits. 

As a result of these collaborative efforts, four individuals who had been abducted were successfully rescued from captivity.

The swift and decisive operation aimed at eradicating bandits and kidnappers causing unrest in Yorro Local Government Area and its surroundings commenced on February 2, 2024.

Troops encountered bandits at Gampu hills and Ban Yorro area, employing superior firepower that compelled the bandits to flee, abandoning their abducted victims.

The operation is currently ongoing to ensure the location and reunification of other kidnapped victims who fled during the exchange of gunfire.

The rescued individuals include Genesis M Samuel, 24 years old from Ganku village; Benard Denis, 28 years old from Fulfualgon village; Esther Titus, 35 years old from Kosanai village; and Isma’il Umar, 25 years old, the son of the Emir of Pupulle, who was abducted from his residence on January 18, 2024.

The Brigade is unwavering in its commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and dismantling all criminal infrastructure in Taraba State.
