Newly Deployed Anambra NSCDC, Olatunde Maku Tours Security Agencies, Calls For More Collaboration

The newly deployed State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Maku Olatunde , has embarked on a familiarisation tour of sister security agencies in the state.

The tour is a way of familiarising himself with other Security Service Commanders in Anambra.

Comdt. Maku commenced his tour on Wednesday, January 31, with a visit to the State Controller, Nigerian Correctional Service ( NCoS), Usifo Joseph at the Command’s Headquarters, Awka.

Addressing the State Controller, the NSCDC boss  explained that the purpose of the visit was to familiarise and renew the existing relationship between the NSCDC and the Nigerian Correctional Service in the state. 

He stressed the need for both agencies to collaborate in  order to improve internal security in the state.

Maku said that the Corps  remain committed to its mandate of protecting the nation’s critical assets and infrastructure and would not hesitate to prove operational support to the NCoS in the protection of Correctional Centers. 

Responding, CC Usifo Joseph expressed appreciation over the visit and assured continued partnership with the NSCDC, saying that the  Nigerian Correctional Service prioritised working synergy to achieve maximum success. 

In a related development, the State Commandant also visited the Director, Department of State Services, Adesina Bolarinwa and pledged his commitment toward continuously synergising with the DSS in the areas of intelligence sharing.

According to him, ” it is on record that NSCDC is enjoying tremendous support in terms of prompt information sharing. 

” I want to seek more of that gesture in order to maximally achieve security goals in the state. There should be a synergy between us, and that is why I am here to strengthen the ties” he said. 

In his remark, the State Director of DSS, Bolarinwa Adesina thanked the NSCDC helmsman and his team for the visit and assured him of willingness of the DSS to offer NSCDC full cooperation at all times. 

In his words” the role of NSCDC in the provision of security architecture of the country can not be overemphasized. I will not leave any stone unturned in working in tandem with the NSCDC to keep Anambra calm and peaceful especially in the areas of intelligence sharing” he stated.

The DSS State Director while wishing the NSCDC state boss  successful tenure of office , said he has always told his men to collaborate with other security agencies to avoid inter- agency rivalry and succeed in the collective mandate of ensuring a safer society.

The State Commandant was accompanied by very senior officers of the command notable among them; Deputy Commandant, Alada Yakubu, HOD Operations, Deputy Commandant Kazzah Joseph, HOD Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) Protection, Deputy Commandant Francis Nnadi, HOD Private Guard Company Department, and Assistant Commandant Nnadi Ngozi, HOD Disaster Management.
