The Chief Judge of Ebonyi State, Justice Elvis Ngene has given the State Commandant of Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, Dr Elijah Etim Willie a pat on the back as being capable of acquitting himself creditably on the demands of his job.
He spoke while receiving him in his office at the High Court of Justice, Abakaliki during a courtesy visit.
Justice Ngene who welcomed Commandant Willie with open arms assured him of a cordial relationship.
He observed that the demand of his job which complements that of the judiciary was for the good of the state, adding that the volatile nature of insecurity around was manageable, as the state governor’s adoption of multifacetted alternative dispute resolution approach has yielded relative peace. He added that the approach quelled some turmoil in the area “and even if they are not quelled, you are equall to the task”, he said.
“I have had course to meet with your predecessor and our relationship was cordial. And we do not intend to change; even if there’s area that slack, we would strengthen it”
The Judge assured the Commandant of an open door policy to reach him for anything, any time, any day.
Commandant Willie had earlier intimated the chief Judge of the purpose of his visit which was to consolidate on the existing cordial relationship between the two organs of government. He solicited for the judge’s understanding in dealing with issues affecting Civil Defence in the state.
He reiterated the enormity of the task of the Civil Defence whose mandate are multifacetted.
He thanked him for his hospitable disposition towards him and his entourage.
