Akwa Ibom NSCDC Arrests Suspects For Diversion, Siphoning Of LPC

Akwa Ibom Sate Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has apprehended three suspects for diversion and siphoning of liquefied petroleum gas commonly known as cooking gas.

Following complaints and intelligence report from the product owner of the stolen cooking gas, and the inherent danger in the siphoning process officers of the Corps were deployed, and eventually caught the suspect’s right in the act along Port Hardcourt express in the wee hors of Thursday

The suspects who circumvented the outlet process of discharging the product into 25kg and 50kg cylinders. They plugged in hose to the outlet of the LPG tank without recourse to safety, knowing fll well that the product was highly inflammable.

The suspects Sunday Michael Uyai, Johnny Udofa Asqo and Aniekan Isaac Ben have made confessional statement and appropriate steps will be taken against them, as efforts are being made to get their collaborators who patronize.

”Members of the public are hereby warned to desist from patronizing illegal cooking gas sellers, and are urged to report any of such criminality to the NSCDC.” the statement added.
