Yesterday was a day of commendation from hundreds of traders for the Chairman of Area 7 Petty Traders Association, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Musa as he was honoured with the prestigious security award of the People’s Security Monitor for his exemplary commitment to jobs creation for hundreds of Nigerians, who perhaps might have taken to criminal adventures to survive.

Speaking at the event shortly before the presentation of the award at the market, Chief Chris Richard, a two time recipient of the Inspector General of Police Crime Reporting Award and Chairman of the People’s Security Monitor Selection Board, disclosed that unknown to many Nigerians, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Musa has been a formidable partner in the security architecture of Nigeria by his unflinching passion for jobs creation and means of livelihood for hundreds of Nigerians within and outside the Abuja Area 7 Petty Traders market.

“‘We just couldn’t shy away from the fact that Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Musa has been of tremendous positive force in ensuring job creation as an antidote for unemployment and insecurity, over the years, Abdullahi consistently served as a job provider within the nation’s economy in his humble way by teaming up with the relevant authorities to ensure availability of conducive area for Abuja petty traders. This efforts are really unquantifiable when we consider its importance to the sustainability of Nigeria’s security and economy.” Richard emphasized

Speaking during an exclusive interview with a team of People’s Security Monitor. Alhaji Abdullahi said nothing could have been more satisfying to him more than engaging Nigerians in legitimate activities that could sustain their livelihood. He revealed that the Abuja Area 7 Petty Traders Market is populated by people from different tribes of Nigeria of all tribes in Nigeria who eke their living at the market.

”Physical security is not enough, we all also need social and economic security to take people off criminality so as to free Nigeria from insecurity and other social vices.” Abdullahi said.

Shortly before the presentation of the award, the CEO/Executive Producer of People’s Security Monitor, Isiaka Mustapha urged Alhaji Abdullahi to remain focused and unrelenting in his efforts at providing legitimated means of livelihood for the people, because this is the only way security can be guaranteed in Nigeria.
