The men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Delta Corridor – 1 in collaboration with Tantitta Security Services Nigeria Limited On Thursday, January 11, 2024, at about 0057hrs, arrested a 3000 metric tons capacity vessel known as *MT-KALI* on Escravos Water Ways with Twenty-three (23) suspects all together made up of twelve (12) crew members and eleven (11) community members.

Upon confirmation that the vessel and the suspects had arrived Oporoza, I immediately advanced along with my personnel, the command media unit and some private media on Monday, January 15, 2024, and arrived at about 1630hrs, where I paraded the suspects and inspected the vessel as well.

The Delta State Commandant, Suleiman A. Jimoh visited the scene for on the spot inspection of the vessel/suspects; afterwards made a stop the Tantitta Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) Head office in Warri where he met both the Director of Operations and the Director of Administration and sort for more robust synergy between the corps and the Company for better service delivery; also used same medium to intimate them on some certain challenges/bottlenecks that has been hindering the investigations and possible prosecution; further informed them that NSCDC has the sole mandate to investigate and prosecute suspects of vandalism of all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), with oil and gas inclusive. So the practice of handing over suspects and exhibits to other security agencies besides NSCDC should stop and due process followed.

The importance of tangible exhibits at the level of prosecution cannot be overemphasized as absence of exhibits for prosecution amounts only to effort in futility.

Commandant Suleiman also stated that for this arrest, a letter has been written to the management of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) requesting the release of the vessel and the suspects for immediate investigation and possible prosecution to commence.

Attached herewith are pictorial evidences which includes details of the twelve (12) crew members, eleven (11) community member and the vessel.
