Ebonyi Internal Security Commissioner Pledges Support To New Ebonyi NSCDC Commandant

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Internal security boarder peace and conflict resolution, Hon Prince Ettta Uka Ude has pledged a robust working relationship with the new State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ebonyi State Command.

The commissioner gave the assurance on Monday in his office at the old government house, Abakaliki where he played host to the Commandant.

He had assured the Commandant that their two offices shared much in common on the issue of protection of life and property and he would use his position to ensure that the command got it’s dues from the state government. He frowned at the monopolistic tendencies of some security apparatus who tended to spread their tentacles beyond the reach of their core mandate.

According to him, “Security is practical, everyone has a place to cover; we partner with all to make sure these miscreants don’t destroy the state.”

He equally promised to facilitate a good working relationship with the state governor whom he said was a good man with a listening ear. “I know he’ll not want you to suffer.” The commissioner in the same vein commended the officers and men of NSCDC in the state stating that they have so far acquitted themselves creditably in the discharge of their duties.

The state Commandant Dr Elijah Etim Willie has earlier thanked the commissioner for the prompt reception accorded him without a prior notice. He observed that he thought it imperative to visit him first upon arrival in the state to Pave way for a cordial working relationship with him and other security related organs in the state. He was accompanied on the visit by the command’s head of operations, DC Ejikeme Okeke, Command’s head of intelligence and investigation DC Linus Maduabuchi and head of legal unit Bar. Lynda Akam
