Members of the general public have been warned to be mindful of people of questionable character.
Assistant Commandant General of Corps (ACG), Ahmad Ahmad Ghandi, made the call while parading suspected criminals at the headquarters of the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Lokoja.
ACG Ghandi said the three suspects were arrested for criminal conspiracy and cheating, criminal breach of trust, and misappropriation from their various hideouts.
According to him, one of the suspects, Faruk Abdullahi, working with Federal University Wukari from Kano State, fraudulently collected two million naira from Sule Nurudeen Darlington of Idah in Kogi State with the promise of a job with the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency and also issued a fake appointment letter to the same, which upon his arrest was found with letters of appointment from HYPADEC, FCT-IRS, and NIMASA, respectively.
Also to be prosecuted are one Attahiru Keberi, who fraudulently collected one million seven hundred thousand naira from one Aishatu Abu with a promise to get her a car, and one Pastor Chimezie, who also duped one Abdulbanu Ibrahim of Old Poly Quarters Lokoja with a promise to help invest the sum in the coal business.
ACG Ghandi said all will be prosecuted in a competent Court of law upon completion of the investigation, stressing the need for prospective applicants or buyers of goods and services to seek genuine channels of employment or businesses to avoid being duped
The three suspects, upon interrogation, confessed to the alleged crimes.
