Ekiti NSCDC Command Decorates 460 Promoted Officers, Governor Oyebanji Describes Promotion As Call To Service

Governor Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji today challenged the newly promoted officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command to justify advancement of some officers of the Command in the areas of Protection of Critical National Assets, maintenance of Peace and Order as well as general protection of the Ekiti people.

The Governor who was represented by his Senior Special Adviser on Security Brig. Gen Ebenezer Ogundana (rtd) commended the giant strides of the Command in the area of security and citizens’ protection which he adjudged as one of the best in Nigeria owing to the relative peace that surrounds the State with the support of the State Government.

While decorating the newly promoted officers, the SSA charged them to continue to work for the progress of Nigeria as well as advancement of humanity as the Federal Government has been investing in them so that the society can enjoy relative peace needed for developmental planning of the Country.

The Special Guest of the Ceremony, Rt Hon Femi Bamisile a Member of the House of Representative at the National Assembly also took part in the decoration ceremony along with other dignitaries who came in large numbers to grace the historic event.

In his remark, the State Commandant, Mr John Olatunde Fayemi thanked the President of Nigeria for making NSCDC officers happy and commended his lofty ideas and strategies put in place so far to assist Nigeria’s economic and human development; while noting that the input of the Honourable Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji- Ojo to the Service has been yielding and producing good fruits which the Commandant General of the Corps Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR described as sine qua non to the upgrading of the Corps.

Fayemi thanked the State Government for their usual support; went further to advise the newly promoted officers to justify their promotions to the higher ranks by working in tandem with Standard Operating Procedures as well as the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The State Commandant declared that Four Hundred and Sixty (460) officers were elevated to different levels, ranging from Deputy Commandant of Corps to the Assistant Superintendent of Corps. He thereafter rejoiced with all the promoted officers as well as their families for the merited movement, and urged them to be good ambassadors of the Corps any where they find themselves.

The Assistant Commandant General in charge of Intelligence and Investigation from National Headquarters Abuja ACG Iskil Mankinde was in attendance to rejoice with the newly promoted officers. Heads of Sister Agencies in the State were present personally or represented accordingly.
These included the FRSC, Immigration Service, Correctional Service and the Federal Fire Service
