The Akwa Ibom Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1000 of its operatives to take charge of security all over the state.
The deployment was conducted as part of its efforts to ensure the protection of lives and property of the residents of Akwa Ibom during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The state commandant, Eluwade Eluyemi said the officers would work with other security personnel deployed by the police, the army, vigilantes and the FRSC to ensure that peace is maintained across the state during the festive period.
