Inter-Agency Collaboration: Taraba NSCDC Commandant, Adamu Salihu Reassures New Taraba Police Commissioner Of Cooperation

Taraba State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamu Salihu has assured the newly deployed Commissioner of Police in the State of his command’s readiness to improve on the existing working relationship with the Police with a view to safeguarding lives and properties in the state.

Commandant Salihu made the pledge yesterday while receiving the newly posted Taraba Commissioner of Police Mr Joseph Eribo who paid him a courtesy visit at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters Jalingo.

Speaking earlier during the courtesy visit, the new Taraba Commissioner of Police Mr. Joseph Eribo said he was at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters to familiarize himself with the officers and men of the Corps who he would be working closely with a view to strengthening the existing working relationship between the two security agencies.

Even though the Nigeria Police is the lead agency in internal security, the CP reiterated that there was a need for collaboration and synergy among all security agencies to tackle internal security as no agency can do it alone. “Anywhere I am, I would be happy to have you by my side”, the CP emphasized. He advised that there was no need for inter-agency rivalry since the goal was solely to achieve internal security.

Responding, Commandant Adamu who was visibly elated by the visit, said that the CP’s visit was a demonstration of humility and good gesture, stressing that other officers and men of both services should emulate the postures of both leaders. 

Commandant Adamu thanked the CP and his entourage for coming and wished him success his task of discharging his official duties in his new office.
