Yuletide: Abia NSCDC To Partner Navy On Security

The Abia State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has assured the general public of its commitment to continue to collaborate with relevant security agencies in the state to ensure an improved peace and security of the state this yuletide.

The Abia State Commandant of NSCDC, Paul Igwebuike handed down this assurance on Wednesday evening after a very crucial meeting with the Commandant, Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance, Owerrinta, Captain O. A. Eyitayo at the Command Headquarters in Umuahia.

The Abia NSCDC boss described the Nigerian Navy as the command’s age-long dependable ally, emphasising that the meeting has offered them an important opportunity to strengthen the existing relationship between them and to plan ahead on Yuletide security operations in the state.

According to Igwebuike, “This meeting is indeed very strategic in many respects. Beyond the normal familiarisation visits by newly deployed Service Commanders, we have an opportunity here to review strategies, strengthen existing collaboration and emplace measures towards efficiently securing lives and Critical Assets and Infrastructures in the South East region of the country in particular especially ahead of the Yuletide”.

The NSCDC boss reiterated the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abububakar Audi’s ardent belief and promotion of synergy with sister agencies and has made same an integral part of the Corps’ Standard Operating Procedure, SOP”, stressing, “the gains of synergy implies a tremendous reduction in inter-agency supremacy struggles.”
