The Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, Taraba State Command, is considering plans to increase the presence of men of the NSCDC in Wukari and its environs to help stem the tide of security challenges bedeviling the area.
The Commandant, NSCDC, Taraba State Command, Adamu Salihu stated this today when he paid a courtesy call on the Aku Uka, His Royal Majesty, Manu Adda Ali in his palace in the ancient town of Wukari.
He noted that the Command was fully aware of security challenges plaguing the area in particular and the entire state at large, and was working assiduously alongside other security agencies to get rid of the criminal elements causing sleepless nights for the good people of Taraba State in most areas
The Commandant who applauded the Aku Uka for the role he is playing in entrenching peace and harmony in his domain, also expressed delight over the opportunity he had to visit his palace, even though the visit, according to him, came late owing to the exigencies of duty.
“I had planned to visit you before now, Your Majesty but I was not able to come until today. This is nothing but because of exigencies of my office. I am here to familiarize myself with you as a father, haven come from one of the tribes that make up the Kwarrafa kingdom and to also get your royal blessings as I carry on with my work here in Taraba.
“I want to thank you so much for the role you are playing in ensuring peace in your domain. Your Majesty, I want to use this opportunity to appeal that you should do even more by collaborating with all the security agencies working here”. The Commandant said.
Responding, His Royal Majesty, Manu Adda Ali, commended the Commandant for deeming it necessary to visit his palace. He said Wukari is faced with myriads of security challenges for some time now and commended NSCDC and other security agencies for contributing their quota in returning peace to Wukari.
“I want to plead with you, the Commandant, to increase the number of men here and also equip them adequately so that they can help us fight the menace of insecurity more effectively”. He added.
His Royal Majesty, further prayed that God should grant the Commandant wisdom to run the NSCDC Taraba State Command and also, to make the right decisions and do justice to all. The Aku Uka who blessed the Commandant, further assured him of the support of the traditional council whenever the NSCDC call for their attention.
Meanwhile, the courtesy call ended with an exchange of gifts between the Commandant and His Royal Majesty, the Aku Uka of Wukari.
