The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Oluwayomi Temitope for extorting sex from a young lady by threatening to release their record online. The command’s spokesperson, DSC Aidamenbor Daniel, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, said the suspect was arrested at a popular hotel in Ijoka, Akure for cyberstalking and blackmailing. According to Aidamenbor, the victim, identified simply as Olajumoke, met the suspect online and they hooked up at the hotel where they both engaged in sex for a fee. “When Olajumoke asked for her payment, the suspect showed her the recorded video of their act and threatened to upload same on social media,” the PRO stated. “Using the recording with him, Temitope kept asking for the services of Olajumoke and when she could not take it further, she reported to the command. A sting operation was carried out where the lady was asked to honour the suspect invitation at the hotel whenever he demanded for her again. “The suspect was arrested and he has since made confessional statement with the presentation of the recorded video as exhibit. He will be charged to court to serve as a deterrent to others who are in the habit of cyber stalking and blackmailing,” he added. |
