The House of Representatives has confirmed the appointment of the Chief of Defence Staff and the service chiefs.

The House ad hoc committee on the screening of nominees for appointment as Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs headed by Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, yesterday, presented the report.

“That the House do consider the Report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the Screening of Nominees for Appointment as Chiet of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and approve recommendations therein,” he said.

The House confirmed Major-General Christopher Gwabin Musa,  as the Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, as the Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, as the Chief of Naval Staff and  Air Vice Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, as the Chief of Air Staff.

The House had Monday screened four appointees forwarded to the House by President Bola Tinubu.
