Army, Air Chiefs Visit Troops, Demand Synergy

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan  Abubakar, and The Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, have urged troops at the various theaters of operations to work in synergy with other security agencies.

They appreciated the troops and their families, particularly the dead and the wounded, for their sacrifices toward ensuring peace and security in Nigeria.

The service chiefs spoke at the combined Eid-El-Kabir Celebration held for the troops in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

A statement on Thursday by the spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ayodele Famuyiwa, said Abubakar attributed the recent operational successes to the combined efforts of the air force and land forces, urging them to do more.

The statement partly read,” Abubakar attributed the recent operational successes to the combined efforts of the air and surface forces, which he noted would not have been possible without the selflessness, sacrifices, and devotion of the troops and their families.

“He, therefore, urged the troops to ensure that the synergy cascades down to the tactical level of operations through proper coordination, collaboration, and cooperation in future efforts.

“Maintaining a high level of effectiveness and efficiency in the frontline while away from your loved ones during festive seasons like this, clearly demonstrates your nobility of placing Service before self.”

He, however, appreciated the families of the troops for providing the much-needed support required to maintain the motivation and morale at the frontline.

Abubakar stated that his visit to the theatre, together with his army counterpart, to celebrate with the troops was an indication of the enhanced synergy about to be infused into future operations.
