The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kogi State Command Ahmad Ahmad Gandi has approved the deployment of 1,700 officers and men of the State Command to provide Security during this year’s Sallah celebration across Kogi State including Lokoja, the State Capital.
This is in line with the NSCDC Commandant General directive Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s to ensure a hitch-free Eid el-Fitr celebration across the Country.
The State Commandant tasked the area Commanders to ensure proper Security coordination of their areas, while Divisional Officers are to effectively mobilise their personnel.
He further directed that all component Commanders and all special forces to be deployed in to achieve a watertight Security for maximum protection of the populace and Critical National Assets.
“Our resolve to guarantee peace, safety and protection of lives and Critical assets in synergy with other Security agencies must be carried out through our collective inputs.
For these obvious reasons, I have directed all area Commanders, Divisional officers with these responsibilities, therefore every one must brace up to discharge their responsibilities satisfactory” the Commandant Stated.
He mandated all formations within the State Command in engaging community stake holders in gathering credible intelligence and carry out composite surveillance before, during and after the celebration to prevent surprises from criminals. While stating that deployment of personnel should be focused on prayer ground, worship centers, recreational facilities, motor Parks, gardens, markets, shopping complexes, black spots and Critical installations to make the festivity a hitch-free.
The Commandant extends his felicitation to all Muslim faithful in the Country and across the world wishing them a peaceful Eid el-Fitr celebration, just as he prayed God Almighty for a more peaceful Nigeria.
