FCT NSCDC COMMAND PARADES 9 SUSPECTS FOR CRIMINAL CONSIPRACY, PIRACY, THEFT, POSSESION OF STOLEN PROPERTY, UNLAWFUL DISTRIBUTION/SALE, FRAUD AND MONEY LAUNDERING

As part of the Corps continuous efforts to curb crime and criminality in the country, the FCT Command Intelligence operatives acting on credible information by members of the public, raided and arrested several staff members of Global Green Energy ltd on the 13th of June 2023, on charges of criminal conspiracy, theft, possession of stolen property, unlawful distribution/sale, fraud and money laundering at Giri, FCT, Abuja.

The arrest was necessitated following series of complaints from members of the public who had no option but relate the matter to the NSCDC FCT Command’s Intelligence and Investigation Department.

The FCT Commandant, Dr Peter Maigari gave orders, and the intelligence operatives swiftly went into action to locate, monitor and arrested the suspects on their alleged participation in a scheme that involves illegal acquisition and distribution of stolen energy products, leading to significant financial losses and potential risks to public safety.

The suspects are John Augustine from Makudi, Benue State; Abiola Femi from Atisibo, Oyo State; Emmanuel Ayodele from Ijebu-east, Ogun state; Chukwudi Godfrey from Ortu East, Imo State; Chisom Ekerelum from Isiala Mbano, Imo State; Raji Kunle Nasiru from Offa, Kwara State; Abdulraman Ibitoye from Offa, Kwara State; Gayius Maigida from Lapai, Niger State; Nasiru Kabiru from Okehi, Kogi State and Durojaye Patrick form Yagba East, kogi State.

 Exhibits recovered includes, 160 pieces of Solar Panels, 14 pieces of Mantrac Battery, 2 pieces of Mantrac Battery Panel, 15 pieces of Ritar Slime Battery, 24 pieces of ZTE Battery, 5 pieces of Huawei Battery, 2 pieces of Polarium Battery, 1 piece of Sacred Sun Battery, 17 GSM Handsets.

While quizzing the suspects, the Chief Executive Officer of the company Global Green Energy Ltd. to have purchased Mantrac Solar Batteries which were discovered to be products of IHS Company.

He said the Company buys used battery from different persons, refurbish and sell them to the general public.

The FCT Commandant Dr Peter Maigari said Investigation is ongoing and frantic efforts are on to apprehend the syndicates who specializes in piracy, theft, possession of stolen products and unlawful distribution and sale of these products. 

As soon as investigations are concluded, necessary actions will be taken against the culprits to serve as deterrent to others who may wish to indulge in the act.
