ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF, GENERAL YAHAYA CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya congratulated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his swearing in as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and also assured the President of the absolute loyalty of the Nigerian Army to him and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.  

General Yahaya gave this assurance on Wednesday 7 June 2023 while declaring open the Army Headquarters Department of Transformation and Innovation Sensitization Seminar on Intensifying Warriors Ethnos Regimentation in the Nigerian Army, Drug and Substance Abuse and Management of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) held at HQ 82 Division Auditorium Enugu.    

In his opening remarks, The Special Guest Of Honor, Lt Gen F Yahaya who was represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Maj Gen Aminu Chinade described the event as important, noting that the sensitization was timely following the complex security challenges facing the country adding that the Army will continue to review tactical options to enable it to surmount any form of security challenges in the country.

General Chinada further said that regimentation helps in creating the bond, cohesion and discipline required for the conduct of military operations, noting that the seminar seeks to rekindle the warrior spirit and regimentation in all commanders and their troops through innovative thinking, critical approach, and implementable strategies. In line with his vision which is to have “A Professional Nigerian Army Ready to Accomplish Assigned Missions Within a Joint Environment in Defence of Nigeria”.

The COAS commended the Chief of Transformation and Innovation (Army) Maj Gen Zakari Abubakarfor the conduct of the seminar and also expressed gratitude to the GOC 82 Division for his support to the success of the event, he equally commended the resource persons for their commitments in sensitizing troops and urged participants to be serious in the training and utilize what they learnt appropriately.

In his welcome address, the Chief Of Transformation and Innovation (Army) Major General Zakari Abubakar noted that the aim of the lecture on warrior’s Ethos was to invigorate and awaken the fighting spirit of all troops of the Nigerian Army in order to meet up with the contemporary security challenges in the country.

He further added that awareness on Regimentation was equally to re-orientate troops on reviving the common ethics of discipline, norms and professionalism to meet the global practice.

Major General Abubakar noted that the lecture would impact positively on troops’ combat effectiveness and improve their operational efficiency in line with COAS vision. He expressed his gratitude to the COAS Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for his support and also thanked the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division for hosting the event. General Abubakar equally urged participants to be serious on the lecture as it would positively enhance their operational capacity.
