ASSISTANT DIRECTOR GENERAL ALHAJI ADO MU’AZU, STATE DIRECTOR OF SECURITY SERVICE, FCT COMMAND BAGS THE PRESTGIOUS PEOPLE’S SECURITY MONITOR AWARD FOR DEDICATED SECURITY SERVICE OF THE DECADE…says effective synergy needed among all stakeholders, Nigerians to sustain security in Nigeria.
Below is the short excerpt of Alhaji Ado Mu’azu’s speech at the presentation of the award ceremony held yesterday at his Abuja office
”Permit me to express my profound gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the Management and Staff of the FCT DSS to PEOPLE’S SECURITY MONITOR team for finding us worthy of recognition for our efforts in the course of firming up the nation’s security.
Of course this honour is for the entire members of staff of the FCT DSS, because it couldn’t have come without your contributions and efforts, so therefore it’s our collective award and honour in all respects.
We are particularly grateful and excited because of the fact that this honour is coming from a credible organization like PEOPLE’S SECURITY MONITOR.
The fact remains that the task of Nigeria’s security is an all inclusive affair, and we must be frank and patriotic enough about this, Truth be told, we as Nigerians must be conscious of the need to bequeath to our unborn generations an ideal and secured Nigeria they could be proud of, there is no cut short to this. Our commitment is required and badly needed by our dear country for a sustainable security system that could stand the test of time and measure up with global standard.
Let’s not feign ignorance of it. We can’t do it all alone, and that is where the issue of collaboration comes in.
It’s our collective responsibility to gear up and guard generously Nigeria’s security, because this is the only way we can realize our dreams and aspirations.
We must be aggressive and speedy with our individual and collective commitments to achieve for Nigeria a perfect security system, because Nigeria belongs to all of us, and it is the only country we can truly call ours.
The issue of synergy is a cardinal responsibility to us at DSS, and we do not spare anything to ensure a valid and effective synergy with all the stakeholders and Nigerians in general.
This explains why the Institute of Security and Strategic Studies was established in 2009 to commence training of high level cadres of the nation’s security peesonnel. It’s the initiative of the DSS.
Already the National Assembly had approved of it, and same goes for Mr. President who had also consented to it.
The graduates and Fellows of the Institute are spread all over, cutting across all the security related bodies across the country, I am a Fellow of the Institute and several other senior security personnel across the country.
We are particularly supported by the FCT Minister who has been of tremendous support to our synergy priority, and we have demonstrated on a number of occasions that we are genuinely concerned about efforts to achieve genuine synergy among all the stakeholders.”
