Ekuevuegbe commends Nigerian Army for promoting education in Delta

The Chief Inspector of Education (CIE) for Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Adeda Ekuevugbe, has commended the commandant and the Army of 181 Amphibious Battalion for supporting the growth of the education sector in the state.

Ekuevugbe gave the commendation at the St. Michael’s College in Oleh during an education outreach, organised by the army to present instructional materials such as mathematical sets, notebooks and other writing materials to the school.

The Isoko South CIE, who represented the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Rose Ezewu, said the gesture was commendable and stressed the need for corporate organisations to partner with the state government in driving the education system.

Ekuevugbe stated that the state government was quite appreciative of the support, adding that the responsibility of improving the standard of education should not be left for governments alone.

He urged the school to make judicious use of the instructional materials so that the purpose of the donation would be realised while also calling on teachers in the area to continue to demonstrate utmost commitment to their duties.

Presenting the items to the school, the Army Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Nafuta Abubakar, said the gesture was part of their educational outreach initiatives, aimed at contributing their quotas towards the educational development of the state.

In her response, the principal of the school, Onoyerame , lauded the initiative, saying that the items would encourage the students of the school to take their studies seriously.
