2023 POLL: NSCDC TO DEPLOY 102,000 PERSONNEL, PAYS OFFICERS’ OUTSTANDING ALLOWANCES

Ahead of the 2023 general elections the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has concluded all arrangements to deploy 102,000 of its officers and men to take charge of security sister by side with other sister security agents across the country during the polling exercise with a view to ensuring a hitch-free election, while disclosing that operatives of the corps that participated in the 2022 Osun and Ekiti elections have been paid their outstanding allowances.

“The NSCDC will be deploying 102,000 officers ahead of the forthcoming elections. We assure Nigerians that the election is going to be successful, free and fair. We are working assiduously with other security agencies to ensure the security of voters and the facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission.” Spokesperson for the Corps, Olusola Odumosu quoted to have said in an interview with punch.

“As the political class are trying to orchestrate voting buying, security agencies are also mapping out strategies to checkmate them. Good enough, the corps alongside other security agencies including the Economic and Financial Crime Commission are part of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security. All hands are on deck to easily identify the perpetrators and nab them. Efforts are in place to reduce vote-buying and anyone caught will be arrested and dealt with.” Odumosu disclosed further in an interview with punch correspondent on Monday.
