The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, Usman Alfadarai, has assured members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of adequate security during and after the 2023 general elections.
Alfadaria made the promise during the visit to the State NYSC Co-coordinator, Yetunde Baderinwa, at its camp, in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.
He further assured the NYSC, of the Command’s continuous support in the deployment of personnel to the Camp at all periods when their services are needed due to importance the Command attaches to the lives of Corps members, staff and their property.
He sought the support and co-operation of the State Co-coordinator to continue to sustain the already established harmonious working relationships between the Corps and the Command, create enabling environment and improved working relationships, which will spur the Command to render effective security services, in line with its mandates.
On her part, the NYSC Co-coordinator commended the diligence and uprightness of the officers and men of the Command posted to the Iyana-Ipaja camp, for upholding the rules and regulations of the camp, in conjunction with other security agencies. She also called for more collaboration with the NSCDC in the state.
The State Commandant, who also spoke briefly at a programme, held to sensitise corpers, visited and inspected departments and facilities at the Camp.
Alfadarai, who also visited the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi in his office, said that the visit was to appreciate the CP, and to further have a good working relationship between the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the NSCDC, in Lagos State.
The CP, in his response commended the relationship between the two outfits. He said the relationship has helped the two not to record any case of rivalry in his tenure and assured the Corps of cordial and harmonious working relationship with his successor as well as affirmed his own continuous support from the higher level.
