The Nigeria Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC says journalists can do a lot in ensuring peaceful elections and other political activities.

The State Commandant of NSCDC Kano command, Adamu Idris Zakari, while speaking to journalists on Tuesday said there is a need to ensure massive sensitization and enlightenment of the public as preparations reach an advanced stage for the elections.

Adamu Idris said the  Kano Command of the NSCDC is fully prepared to bring the life their dream of a free and fair election.

He advised politicians to prioritize issue-based talks to drive home their points during campaigns.

The commandant stressed that the Corps’ personnel would not hesitate to protect citizens against any harm, as he enjoined the people of Kano to support through sharing credible information.

He reminded Nigerians that security should be everybody’s business at all times.
