YULETIDE: NSCDC DEPLOYS 2,470 OPERATIVES IN LAGOS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command has reassured Lagosians, of its commitment, towards ensuring peaceful and conducive atmosphere, devoid of crimes and criminalities that could lead to the break down of law and order or the vandalization of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ), during this year’s, 2022, Christmas and new year celebrations in the state.

The Command further deploys a total of two thousand four hundred and seventy ( 2,470 ) officers and men to the various strategic and tactical locations, points, beats, relaxation spots, recreational parks, markets, worship centres ( churches ), religious gatherings, right of ways, critical national assets and infrastructure, belonging to the Federal, State and Local Governments, amidst other very important places, without neglecting the remote and coastal areas in the state.

The above deployments are being drawn, from various departments and units, such as; Operation, Intelligence and Investigation, Anti – Vandal, Armed Squad, CNAI, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosives ( CBRNE ) Unit, Area Commands and Divisions, Quick Intervention Squad ( QIS ), Special Female Squad ( SFS ), Agro – Rangers, Crisis and Disaster Management, Counter – Terrorism, Peace and Conflict Management and Anti – Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration Unit, ( ATHIMU ) et ce tera.

The NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Commandant of Corps ( CC ) Edenabu Okoro Eweka, however, says, “in a bid to achieving optimal operational successes during this season of celebrations and to guarantee total safety and security, of lives and property of the public, the Command will ensure close – knit working relationships, with other security agencies in the state.”

The NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, also seizes this opportunity, to felicitate with the followers of Christ also known as Christians, as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. He wishes Christians a merry and glorious Christmas celebrations.

The Lagos State Commandant of the Corps also charges Christians and all Nigerians and foreigners, who are residents in the state, on the need to imbibe the virtues and principles of peace during the yuletide and the new year celebrations. “Without peace there can not be progress and development in the land,” he said.”

Finally, CC Edenabu Okoro Eweka, eulogises all members of the press, who have also contributed, immensely, with their pen and wisdom, to make the Command and the entire people of the state, become direct or indirect beneficiaries of timely and correct information, sound and balanced reportage, objective reporting, professional conducts and practices made possible through peaceful and smooth working relationships as well as love for country.
