The Nigerian Security and civil Defense Corp NSCDC in Kano says it is fully prepared as so far, five thousand personnel to ensure security of lives and properties during Christmas, Boxing day and new year celebration in Kano.
This was contained in a statement signed by the the Corps’ mouthpiece, DSC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi and made available to journalists in Kano on Friday.
“As we are in the countdown to celebrate Christmas and new year, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kano command is poised and ever ready to provide maximum security during and after the festive period in the State.
“Against this backdrop, the State Commandant of the Corps, Commandant Adamu Idris Zakari, fsi has approved the deployment of over 5000 regular officers and volunteers for a peaceful and hitch free Christmas and New Year celebration,” the statement reads.
He added that though the focus will be the safety of lives and protection of all critical national assets and infrastructure across nooks and crannies in the State, but “special attention will be paid and security coverage prioritized around strategic places particularly churches and recreational centers etc”.
The NSCDC then urged the public to “celebrate responsibly and modestly as the Corps will never condone brazen breach of public peace”.
