NSCDC intercepts 2 trucks with Rail Slippers in Niger

Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has arrested two trucks loaded with vandalised railway slippers in two local government councils of the state.

The two trucks were intercepted by the anti vandals squad of the corps acting base on credible intelligence.

Commandant Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps Niger state Command Ahmed Mohammed Dandare stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna on the stride recorded by the corps under his leadership.

Ahmed Mohammed Dandare explained that following a tip off, his men have arrested the truck with registration number FGE 682 ZS Kano loaded with railway slippers at Paiko in Paikoro local government council of the state.

According to him one of the suspect and driver of the truck Ahmed Lawan age twenty five from Jos North local government council of Plateau state had in his statement said he was offered to be paid one million one hundred and fifty thousand naira to transport the items to llorin Kwara state where one hundred thousand naira was initially deposited to him.

He said the one hundred thousand naira offered to him was later collected to settle the locals who barricaded the road before they could allow the truck access out of the community.

Ahmed Mohammed Dandare explained that officers and men of Niger state command   have also intercepted another truck with registration number DTM 587 XA Katsina fully loaded with railway slippers at Garatu village in Bosso local government council of Niger state in which the truck driver abandoned the truck and flee.

While assuring of their determination as major stakeholders in protecting critical National Assets and infrastructure in Niger state and Nigeria however said they will continue to keep twenty four hours surveillance in all government facilities in Niger state.

Ahmed Mohammed Dandare added that the Commandant General Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has directed state Commandant’s to deal ruthlessly with any individual or group found vandalising any public assets.
