The Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Friday trained pupils of secondary schools on ways to defend themselves against being raped by men.
The pupils were taught on various methods they can use to defend themselves from being raped and from falling victim of other immoral acts.
The training took place at a one- day sensitisation programme on rape, sex education and juvenile delinquency organised for primary and secondary pupils at Gwanara, Baruten local government area of the state.
At the event, operatives of the command demonstrated to the female students how to defend themselves in case of attempt on them.
The corps also àdmonished the school- age children in Kwara state to shun all immoral acts that can put their promising future in jeopardy.
Speaking at the sensitisation programme, the state commandant of the NSCDC, Muhammed Ibrahim Tukur , enjoined pupils to shun all the immoral acts such as rape, sexual abuse, smoking and keeping bad company.
