Chie Justice of the Nigeria and Chairman, Board of Governors of the National Judicial Institute, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola has advocated high standard of practice for the nation’s judicial officers affirming that that the decisions of judges’ role are more relevant to our democratic dispensation and greatly impact the society.
Speaking at opening ceremony of the 2022 All Nigeria Judges Conference of the Lower Courts held at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja, Justice Ariwoola emphasized that the complex nature of Nigeria’s society makes it eminent that the judicial roles catch up with societal changes to make the law more relevant to our democratic dispensation.
‘’The theme of this conference which is ENHANCING THE ROLE OF THE JUDICIARY IN NATION BUILDING is most ideal and well thought out, as it serves as a conscious reminder of the crucial role played by the judiciary in the devoplment and growth of the nation. However, to effectively carry out this onerous task, we cannot afford to take the backseat or relax our efforts. While synergies between all three arms of government cannot be dispensed with in nation building, of equal importance is the need to strengthen synergies within each arm.’’ Justic Ariwoola said.
