The Administrator of the National Judicial Institute, Justice Salisu Garba Abdullahi has emphasized the need for the nation’s judicial officers to continually deepen their knowledge and expertise required of their professional callings in order to meet up with an ideal judicial system that could be ranked among the best in the world.
Addressing congregated participants at the opening ceremony of the 2022 All Nigeria Judges Conference of the Lower Courts Monday, this according to Justice Abdullahi explains why the NJI provides continuing judicial education for all categories of judicial officers, by undertaking, organizing, conducting and facilitating study courses, lectures, seminars and other related judicial education for the nation’s judicial officers.
According to Justice Abdullahi, ‘’as Ministers in the temple of justice, judicial officers occupy a prestigious and enviable position in the society. However, this exalted office of yours is not one without its own difficulties, afterall greater powers come with greater responsibilities. It follows therefore that as judicial officers, your watchwords must continually be intergrity, diligence and excellence with a renewed commitment to defending the truth and indeed speedy dispensation of justice without fear or favour.’’
