Wadada to renovate abandoned police outpost in Keffi

  • SDP senatorial candidate for Nasarawa West, Mr. Ahmed Wadada, has pledged to renovate an abandoned police post he built and donated to the Nigerian Police in Keffi 13 years ago.
  • Wadada made the pledge when he led a delegation made up of his campaign council leaders and supporters to a field assessment of the outpost in Keffi local government, Nasarawa state, on Monday. The former two-term member of the House of Representatives said it has become necessary for him to renovate the abandoned outpost to ensure a stronger security presence on the outskirts of the town of Keffi. He said that the government alone cannot take responsibility for providing security to life and property, hence the need for all citizens to contribute their qota to improve security in their localities.
  • Wadada therefore set up a three-man committee headed by his campaign council, Bello Ramalan, to liaise with the police officer from Keffi’s division to devise modalities on how to ensure the immediate renewal of the post of advanced.
  • He said: “Everyone will remember that out of my desire to ensure the safety of the lives and property of my constituents, I built and donated this police post to the Nigerian Police Force for 13 years. behind.”Wadada said that he built the structure when he represented the Keffi, Kokona and Karu federal constituencies in the National Assembly as part of his tangible achievements.
  • The outpost also provides security for the Federal Government power distribution station against vandal activities in this area which is located on the outskirts of Keffi.“Also, this area is undergoing a lot of expansion, you can see a lot of auto repair and sheet metal workshops and many neighbors are building houses, therefore, the area needs more security.
  • And that was what informed my decision to deal with the renovation of the abandoned police station. We will discuss with the police whether they are still interested in the outpost, and after the renovation, we will hand it over to them.“But, if they are no longer interested in using the outpost, after the renovation, we will hand it over to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC),” Wadada said.edited peanutSource Credit: NAN
