Commuters travelling on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway have been subjected to several attacks by gunmen in recent times.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported how a young lady, Amina, her friend and some other road users were kidnapped near Satguru Maharaj Ji Village along the road in October.

The kidnappers contacted the families of the victims and demanded a ransom running into millions of naira.

It was later reported that Aminat, her friend, Prof. Adigun Agbaje, former deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan, and Olayemi Adejare, a student at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta, Ogun State, were all freed after being held captive for two days.

A video of an attack on the road on Tuesday shows a man, who survived bullet wounds, recounting his experience.

“I thought I was dead, having been shot by them.

“They faced our vehicle shooting at us, we all lay down except the driver who was the target. They thought we were all dead and retreated into the bush,” he said.

The joint patrol team of police officers from Ogun and Oyo states arrived at the scene later.
